Frequently Asked SEO Questions
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. While many approaches exist that may dictate the answer to this question across the board, everyone in some way intends to manipulate search results on behalf of themselves or their constituent.

What is the Difference Between SEO & SEM?
SEM stands for Search Engine Marketing which means SEO is technically a subject of SEM. Other subjects of Search Engine Marketing include PPC (Pay per Click), Search / Web Analytics, and Cost-per-Impression. It should be noted that by technical definition, in all categories (including SEO) this subject is not exclusive to Google and would include all Search Engine Directories although we do tend to focus on Google in practice.
What is Better, SEO or PPC?
PPC (Pay-per-Click) Advertising is not necessarily ‘better or worse’ than SEO. As all forms of marketing go, some are better or worse which is highly dependent on the industry or business in question. The immediate benefit of PPC is that it is just that: Immediate. However, this is also a pitfall because as easy as it is to turn on, it can be turned off. In that way, PPC is not as equitable over time and does not drive that equity into the structure of the website, as Search Engine Optimization does. To those looking to increase the bottom line value of their website, as an asset owned by the business, a comprehensive SEO campaign can in turn increase the value of the business itself at the time of company valuation for sale, for instance.
What is On-Page SEO?
On-Page Search Engine Optimization deals directly with the content served to users, as well as to Googlebot. In this way it deals with the forward-facing content on a page, as well as the HTML document that is parsed by search engine crawlers. Out of all the processes generally practiced by SEOs, this is the area in which we specialize. There are many approaches and schools of thought within this field, but generally we intend to both optimize the page’s content to take advantage of TF/IDF (Term-Frequency / Inverse-Document Frequency) algorithms in both Keyword mentions inside content & code as well as how such terms are formatted for a more logical parse from robots & crawlers.
All-in-All, to “do” SEO is to study Web Architecture,
place yourself in the shoes of Google & other search engines who have the task of crawling & understanding the entire internet, and develop processes of manipulation through rigorous field testing based on the findings from this research.
